Q: What if I only want to do this as a hobby. Do I still have to have workshops?
A: Absolutely not!! Stampin' Up! supports the hobby demonstrator just as well as the career demonstrator. You can put in your own order or collect orders from family & friends to equal the $300 a quarter minimum.
Q: Can I be my own Hostess?
A: Yes, you can be your own Hostess anytime you want. You can invite your family & friends into your own home and have a workshop. You would be the Hostess, receiving the Hostess benefits, & you would also be the demonstrator receiving your instant income & commission.

A: The Standard Starter Kit is only $175 plus tax (shipping is free!). It includes everything you will need to get your business up and running, including stamp sets, ink, paper, catalogs, order forms, training video, etc.
Q: What if I decide that I don't like it once I've started. Will I be penalized if I quit or is there a certain time frame I have to be a demonstrator.
A: You can stop anytime you choose. You simply just stop putting in your minimum sales. Stampin' Up! may send you reminders that your sales are due, but there won’t be any repercussions except loss of demonstratorship. But I guarantee you once you get started you won't want to stop!!

Car Seat Cover

I'm sure you've all seen these but I just had to share the one I made. It's nothing super fancy or anything. I found the monkey fabric at Joann's. They had 32" left so that is what I got, and I got the same amount of a light brown fleece. 32" will work but you could use 34" wide by 44" long as well. Then you'll need 5" of another fabric for the straps unless you want it the same as the top fabric, then get 5" more.
  1. I sewed around the fabrics 3/4" in with the fabric's inside out. I left about a 5-6" opening to turn the fabrics around then I pressed them flat.
  2. Hand stich the opening closed.
  3. Then sew around the entire piece again using a 5/8" seam allowance.
  4. Cut 2 pieces out of the solid brown cotton fabric that are 7 3/4" x 5".
  5. Fold them in half and sew the bottom and side together using a 1/4" seam allowance.
  6. Flip the the straps inside out and fold the open part into inself then press.
  7. Sew around the whole strap (like you did the main piece) using about 1/8" seam allowance.
  8. Lay out the main piece and center the straps. I measured mine and put the midde of my straps 5" away from the center of the whole piece.
  9. Pin them on and sew them using a 1" rectangle. I reinforced all of the corners by backstitching so that they won't come undone.
  10. Sew some velcro onto the straps and you're done. I used Scotch Fasteners. It is 2x thiner than velcro and doesn't stick to everything like velcro does but stays fastened. You could also add buttons, bows or whatever else you can think of to the top of the straps to embellish it more.

Total time: about 1 1/2 hours.

Sorry the pics aren't that great. I finished it right before I had to pick up Kazia from school and it was raining/snowing so it is a bit wet.
